The President Calls Relatives of Injured National Guard Members to White House

Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Background on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Mourners came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to support law enforcement in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a warm expression and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” the principal, the principal of her alma mater, stated to the media. “She was kind, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the government to pause refugee claims and cease providing entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with honor, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” he told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
