Our Purpose Consists of Only Executing' - The Way Sudan's Ruthless Militia Carried out a Mass Killing

Alert: This Account Contains Graphic Accounts of Executions.

Combatants chuckle as they travel on the rear of a pick-up truck, hurrying past a series of multiple lifeless forms and heading in the direction of the setting African sun.

"See such work. Look at this mass destruction," a fighter shouts.

He grins as he directs the video equipment on his person and his associate militiamen, their RSF identification on display: "The victims are all going to perish this way."

The men are rejoicing over a massacre that relief organizations fear resulted in the deaths of more than two thousand individuals in the African urban center of al-Fashir in recent weeks.

A City Isolated from the Outside

Following their control of the community under encirclement for almost an extended period, from the summer the RSF moved to reinforce its control and restrict the surviving inhabitants.

Space-based imagery demonstrate that troops commenced to construct a enormous sand wall - a elevated sand barrier - encircling the boundaries of the city, closing access routes and preventing humanitarian assistance.

As the siege escalated, 78 individuals were murdered in an paramilitary strike on a religious building on mid-September, while the United Nations stated fifty-three further were killed in unmanned aircraft and cannon attacks on a makeshift community in October.

Explicit Footage Depicts Weaponless People Shot

In the early morning on October 26th the RSF defeated the last government positions and captured the central compound in the urban area, the main facility of the Army Division, as the army withdrew.

One of the most graphic footage to emerge and studied revealed the aftermath of a massacre at a university building on the west of the urban area, where numerous lifeless forms were visible spread over the area.

An elderly person dressed in a traditional garment remained alone surrounded by the victims. The man rotated to glance as a fighter carrying with a firearm moved descending the stairs towards the individual. Raising his rifle, the shooter released a solitary shot at the individual, who collapsed to the ground lifeless.

"How come is this person even living," another fighter shouted. "Kill this one."

Space-based imagery recorded on late October appeared to confirm that executions were also performed on the roads of al-Fashir, according to a report released by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.

A key observer who provided testimony said he had witnessed "many of our relatives getting executed - these individuals were gathered in a specific area and everyone eliminated."

Militia Officers Try to Conduct Reputation Management

Following the events that came after the killings, RSF leader admitted that his fighters had committed "violations" and announced the incidents would be investigated.

Part of the arrested was subsequent to a analysis detailing his executions. Deliberately choreographed and modified recording posted on the militia's authorized messaging channel reveal him being led into a prison room at a detention facility on the perimeter of al-Fashir.

At the same time, the paramilitary force and connected online accounts began trying to alter the narrative.

Posts depicting its fighters handing out supplies to residents were shared by some accounts, while the militia's media office published multiple recordings claiming to display the proper management of army detainees.

In spite of the digital initiative being employed by the paramilitary, their conduct in el-Fasher have generated worldwide outrage.
